Biography

Community Medicine Specialist with specialized training in health policy and planning, and an interest in health education and research. During her undergraduate years in the faculty of medicine, she was elected twice to lead the Public health secretariat in the Khartoum Association of Medical Students and this paved her way to launch development projects that served rural communities. After completing her master degree in public and tropical health, she worked for 3 years as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in the Human Resources for Health (HRH) directorate, Federal Ministry of Health/Sudan, and she was deeply involved in the development of several national documents. In 2013, she moved to the Public Health Institute to establish the HRH unit and assist in launching a unique HRH postgraduate diploma. During the same year she completed the Community Medicine MD.  A year later, she was awarded a second master degree in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the University of London. Her interest in academia led her to a teaching career at Al-Nealian University and she was also selected to become a fellow of FAIMER-Southern African Institute (SAFRI).
