Safa I.A. Abdalla holds a primary degree in medicine and a medical doctorate in Community Medicine from the University of Khartoum. She is a Member by examination of the Faculty of Public Health of Ireland. She worked in public health research on the burden of disease in Sudan, Travellers health in Ireland and the epidemiology of injury in Sudan. She also has teaching and mentoring experience in universities in Sudan and Ireland. Currently, she works at Stanford University in the USA. Her major interest is in improving the evidence base for public health interventions related to injuries and chronic diseases. She is also interested in improving disease and injury metrics in Sudan.
