Paul Davies is Professor of Agricultural Systems and previously graduated from the universities of Wales; Exeter and East Anglia in the UK with degrees in agriculture; agricultural botany; crop protection and post-harvest biology. His broad teaching and research interests include crop technology; sustainable agricultural systems development and food chain management. He has published extensively in textbooks; scientific journals and professional magazines. He is a Visiting Professor of Agribusiness at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina; in Crop Production Systems at the University of Agriculture in Prague, in the Czech Republic, and at Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Harbin in China. Paul previously worked in the food and agrochemical industries, as well as in agriculture and education. He is an elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Biologists; the Royal Agricultural Society; the National Institute of Agricultural Botany and Churchill Association in the UK. Professor Davies is a past-Director of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IAMA); a member of the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) Safety Committee and Vice-President of the Commonwealth Association of Agricultural Science Societies. Paul is an Advisory Board Member of the Bio-ERA Company; past Board Member of the GFA-RACE consultancy company and a current member of the UK ‘Agri-food and Technologies Export Group’. Paul has worked extensively overseas on agriculture and agribusiness development projects, particularly since 1980 in South East Asia.
