Smart Cities and Urban Planning
This workshop has been designed to introduce the principles of Smart City design and urban planning in the MENA Region. The aim is to develop the essential skills and competencies necessary for decision makers to  plan, identify and examine the objectives, advantages, drawbacks, models, stages and requirements of Smart City Urban Planning Sustainable framework. The workshop aims to enable municipalities, private sectors, non-profit organizations, and representative from science and academia to develop strategies for making our cities smarter, and accommodate the cultural dimensions of our societies. At the end of the workshop, the attendees should be able to acquire a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience about how to construct cities adopting smart growth principles, effective urban planning models, ICTs and low carbon energy systems.

Knowledge Management: concepts, process and technology
This workshop has been designed to introduce a variety of perspectives on knowledge management (KM) in the public and private sectors. The workshop aims to enable knowledge managers, analysts and decision makers to introduce fit-for-purpose KM Framework to their organisations. At the end of the course attendees should be able to acquire a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience about KM best-in-class methodology and technology in alignment with the local needs and capabilities. Moreover, after competition of the course, attendees to write a report, supported by the tutor, of what they have learnt and what is particularly relevant to their employers. A focus to be one aspect of the course which has implications for the way they will improve their professional practice when they return to their employers. This will help reassure the employers of the benefits of the programme and help consolidate the understanding of the manager.

Game-based Learning (GBL) emerged on the academic and enterprise scene in the late 1990s. GBL encompasses fun, engagement, serious learning, and interactive entertainment. Game-Based Learning is often considered a disruptive learning approach and is founded upon two key premises that are emerging within the fields of education, learning, training and development (LTD): Learning engagement is being transformed by significant changes in education and training; and Generation X, Y, and Z have grown up with critical and deep computer and video games experience.
