Biography

Mohamed Sharif Bashir is an associate professor of Economics and Islamic Finance at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has served in several reputable institutions during the last 20 years namely; Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) in Pakistan, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Islamic University Science of Malaysia (USIM), Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University-Brunei. His research and writings covers a variety of topics ranging from International trade, Development Economics, Input-output Analysis, Zakat and endowment management,  and Islamic Banking and Finance. He has published numerous articles and several renowned journals. Bashir is the author of five books entitles: International Monetary Fund: Objectives and Policies and its Impacts on Sudan’s Economy (1995), Reasons of Success of East Asian Economies (2000), Human Capital and Trade Structure of Malaysia’s Manufacturing (2005), and “Objectives of Islamic Law and Its Application in Financial Transactions (2008) and The Malaysian Development Experience (2009).
