Many consider the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as one of the most important emerging parts of the world economy in the 21st century. MENA is strategically vital as it produces the majority of the world’s oil. However, despite the region’s oil, most MENA countries score lower on Human Development Index (HDI) world ranking, with GDP, productivity and investment rates well below the global average. It is, therefore, becoming widely accepted that the dominant economic model of the region – based on the public sector, oil incomes and workers’ remittances – is not up to the challenges of modern globalisation and the needs of advanced knowledge-based societies.

Biography

Dr. Takwa Tlili is an associate professor at High Institute of Multimedia of Manouba, Tunisia. She holds a Master degree and Ph.D. in computer science applied to management from the high institute of management (ISG-Campus), Tunis, Tunisia. Her research interests cover different aspects of Artificial Intelligence. She published several research papers on Combinatorial Optimization, Decision Making, Evolutionary Algorithms, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Decision Support System, Geographical Information Systems, Supply Chain. Her scientific career includes over 20 international publications, refereed and ranked conference proceedings and papers. She is a reviewer for several referred journals such as Applied Soft Computing, Swarm And Evolutionary Applications And IEEE Access. She holds the IBM Academic Certificate for “Cloud Application Developer 2018 Mastery Award for Educators”.Dr Takwa’s teaching experience at the high institute of management Tunis University covers Database management systems, compilation, Graph and Algorithms, Web Programming. As an associate professor at the High Institute of multimedia of Manouba, she lectures about Project Management and Problem Complexity.
