Four Days Intensive Workshop
Monday 24th – Thursday 27th December 2018 (9:00-14:00)

This four-day workshop has been designed to introduce a variety of fundamental perspectives on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to build future leaders who are able to understand and deal with future challenges. The workshop will explain how AI is about designing and building computer-based artifacts making various human tasks. Future leaders and decision makers will learn effective techniques and approaches to make better choices starting from identifying a decision, gathering information and assessing alternative resolutions. Participant will realise how much AI has the potential to make our lives better in almost all fields, it gives us the tools necessary to automate redundant tasks. During the workshop you will learn the classical AI algorithms which can be applied to common problem types.
Drawing on MEKEI’s own research and synthesizing the work of others in the AI and leadership areas, the workshop will help to facilitate the process of adopting AI both within and between organizations. At the end of the workshop attendees should be able to acquire a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience about AI nd leadership styles and approaches in alignment with the local needs and capabilities. Moreover, after competition of the workshop, attendees to write a report, supported by the tutor, of what they have learnt and what is particularly relevant to their employers. A focus to be one aspect of the course which has implications for the way they will improve their professional practice when they return to their employers. This will help reassure the employers of the benefits of the programme and help consolidate the understanding of the manager.
- This integrative workshop aims to develop a deeper understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects to AI and leadership, and to develop the essential skills and competencies necessary to plan, monitor and control different tasks and events.
- Identify key enablers and organization ecosystem that’s support effective AI.
- Develop an understanding of the different approaches to leadership and management.
- This workshop will also complement the different management skills already developed through earlier business and management courses.
- Explore the different perspectives on AI and debate the importance and value of AI within your organization
- Align AI thinking with broader, more traditional strategic approaches.
- An overview of the field of AI, its background, history, fundamental issues, challenges and main directions.
- Understand the relation between AI and decision-making.
- Explain basic concepts, methods and theories of neural networks and learning.
- Explain basic concepts, methods and theories of artificial evolution, genetic algorithms.
- Implement classical AI techniques, such as search algorithms, minimax algorithm, neural networks.
- Ability to apply AI techniques for decision-making.
- Using participants’ own organizations as cases, participants will explore how and when they can establish AI initiatives in their organizations and who will be involved?

- Understand the difference between AI, machine learning and deep learning.
- Subjects covered within the workshop will include: introduction to leadership; difference between leadership and management; leadership skills and tactics; effective leadership; lessons learned from great leaders; communication skills; speaking in public places; and how to become an aspiring leader.
