Biography

Elfatih Mohamed Abdel-Rahman received his BSc (Agric., Hons) in 1998 and his MSc (Crop Production) in 2003 from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum. He completed his PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 2010. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum. His research interests include applications of remote sensing techniques in different agricultural aspects, such as detecting crop stress (e.g., nutritional status, insect pest damage and diseases), crop growth and yield analysis, land cover/land use mapping and change detection. He is also interested in researching different cultural practices for enhancing the quantity and quality of irrigated forage crops. Dr Abdel-Rahman is the author of five peer-reviewed publications that have appeared in major international journals.
